I had the incredible honor and privilege of photographing Lisa and Johnathan's wedding a few weeks ago.  I was contacted by them after being referred by one of my previous couple's, Rachel and Connor, whose wedding I photographed last summer (check it out here!), and connected with Lisa and John the moment we met - they both are so sweet, open and are so romantically head-over-heels for each other.  It was beautiful to witness.  Love like this changes people, including those of use fortunate enough to see it in action. Edmonton Wedding Photographers

I am so pleased to have been able to be a part of Christie and Wes' wedding a few weeks ago. This beautiful couple met through Track (Christie is a competitive hurdler who's raced internationally and is working towards competing in the Olympics and Wes is a Track coach) and fell swiftly in love. Their wedding was incredible - so full of tenderness, laughs, fun and a few tears. Watching couples like Christie and Wes commit their lives to one another is such a profound thing to witness and one of so many reasons why I love my job. Congrats, guys!

I had such an incredible time photographing Lana and Jeff's wedding a few weeks ago! We started off at Lana's apartment to capture her and her bridesmaids getting ready and then headed off to the Royal Glenora where Lana was getting into her dress and for the ceremony. We knew the World Triathalon was taking place that weekend and specifically, that the biking course ran right by the Royal Glenora but we had the understanding that they'd at least let the wedding party through to get ready.... Not the case! Although Lana was graciously escorted across the race course courtesy of one of our city's finest - the rest of us, bridal party, photographers and guests included weren't allowed to cross!! It was crazy! Thankfully, we were all in pretty awesome spirits, watched some bikers race by, and were able to get through with a bit of time to spare :) The sunshine, this beautiful couple's love for each other and an awesome bridal party made this day incredible. I had a lovely time photographing Robin and Jesse's super-sweet (literally!) wedding a few weeks ago! Robin had told me that her wedding was rainbow and candy themed back when she booked me but I was definitely not expecting such incredible attention to detail! Candy bouquets, edible centrepieces and a multi-coloured candy bar that doubled as their ceremony backdrop - It was scrumptious! Check out just a few of my favorite shots from their wedding day!

I once again had the privilege of photographing this beautiful couple in love (check out their engagement photos here). Lauren and Alvin's wedding day was incredible. A gorgeous dress, a surprise gift from Alvin to Lauren (note the sleep mask that came along with the music box...apparently Lauren naps A LOT), an incredible bridal party and an AMAZING Lion Dance at the reception - It was amazing. I am IN LOVE with this wedding!!  Erin and Martijn are the cutest, sweetest, most easy-going and quick-to-laugh couple that I've photographed.  A few things stood out to me at their wedding: 1. Erin's love for her Dad.  They literally RAN towards each other when they had a father/daughter "first look".

2. Erin and her Dad laughing.  After their tearful first look that included tight hugs, the little hook at the top of Erin's dress broke. And they laughed.  Love it.

3. The laughter that occurred when a dragonfly landed right on Erin's head at the beginning of the ceremony (check out the Officiant - her response was awesome).

4. The dutch-i-ness of this Dutch couple.  Klompen, anyone?

Ok. This one is a wee bit more personal than a lot of my previous weddings. A few weeks ago I had the opportunity to photograph my uncle as he married the love of his life, Angela. He has been waiting, patiently, for someone to share his life with and he found her. Amazing. Ken, my dad's youngest brother, has been close to my immediate family for as long as I can remember. Birthdays, holidays, random get-togethers - He's made it a priority to be with our family to celebrate so many things. Currently an audio-visual mastermind who writes, produces, lights and edits movies, tv shows, commercials and educational videos (the list goes on - check out his site here), Ken also used to work a bit more in photography. When I bought my first camera he was thrilled! He has encouraged me and challenged me. He even gave me my first paid gig before I had any clue what I was doing (I believe the image ended up on a billboard in Grande Prairie??)! So, yes, I was honored on many levels when he asked me to photograph such an incredible moment in his life. I flew out to Ontario (SO BEAUTIFUL!!) to a little town called Belleville and had an incredible time celebrating LOVE!

Ken, I love you. Angela, I love you, too. Welcome to our crazy family.

Susy and Chris got married a few weeks ago and I had the awesome privilege of photographing their wedding. I photographed Susy's sister Amanda's wedding a few years back - this family has been so incredibly generous and thoughtful in hiring me and believing in me (I've photographed several of their friends, as well!). The day was absolutely gorgeous and the bridal party was a blast. I love my job <3 <3

There are a lot of things that I want to say about how special Pam and Dustin's wedding was. Not only were they surrounded by their friends, family and a community that clearly loves and supports them but some of the details of the day blew me away and had me holding back tears. Pamela and Dustin's son, for one, who couldn't stay far from them at any given time. He marched right up onto that stage to be beside his mom and dad while they got married (until he fell asleep and Grandpa had to come get him - SO CUTE!!). Then after one of the final blessings at the end of mass, Pamela's grandmother started singing - a jaw-dropping, hauntingly gorgeous song in their native language. The crowd's voices slowly chimed in and the basilica was filled with the most beautiful sound I've ever heard. Again, deep breaths in order to keep my eyes dry. Later, during the reception, I had the incredibly tender privilege of capturing the couple as they watched their slideshow - a slideshow that ended honoring Pamela's Dad who had passed away. The crowd smiled, laughed and cried together - It was beautiful. Pamela had really thought a lot about her dad when planning this day and it was so evident, special and full of honor and love. She incorporated a locket with her Dad's photo into her bouquet and gave me the privilege of photographing it alongside the ring that her Mother had been given when she married her Dad. These are the things that change each wedding for me - not the exact items necessarily but what they mean and the love that comes with them that gets integrated with a couple starting a new chapter of their lives together. It's so special and it's not lost on me how much of a unique privilege my job is. Thanks, Pamela and Dustin, for sharing your love. This past Saturday I had the amazing privilege of photographing Nicola and Matthew as they committed their lives to each other. I already seen a glimpse of how beautiful their love is when I met them and when I photographed their engagement - their wedding showcased it even more. Both their ceremony and reception were held out at Nicola's parent's acreage out near Nameo and we had sooo much fun taking advantage of the stunning, photo-worthy locations nearby. I had the great privilege of photographing another beautiful couple last week. CC and Dylan chose to have their wedding on Wednesday, April 2 to commemorate (and keep) the anniversary of when they first became a couple (actually an awesome idea, eh?). With the help of Sweet Bliss Weddings, an Edmonton wedding planner, they had a gorgeous wedding to complement their ever-growing love. Loved it. Elaine and Kevin's small, intimate ceremony was the perfect way to kick off my 2014 wedding season! They chose to have a civic ceremony with just family present but still included some beautiful traditions. One of my favorite things about photographing weddings is getting to see how different cultures celebrate and I was definitely holding back tears during the tea ceremony as both sets of parents gave their blessing to the couple. I had the privilege of photographing Penny and Tony this past New Year's Eve and it was awesome! When I had iniitally met with Penny she told me "There's going to be A LOT of Irish people (aka Tony's family) there so it's going to be a realllly good party!" which indeed it was. Penny was stunning and incredibly calm; no frantic worrying or anything like that - just pure excitement and a readiness to marry her Love. Lots of laughs, lots of love and lots of dancing - the day went off without a hitch. This is the first wedding where I had almost no natural light for 90% of the day and where 99% of the day was indoors (I did pull them out into the freezing cold around 11 pm for a few quick shots). If you've followed my work before you know that the majority of what I do takes place outdoors with tons of natural light which obviously isn't an option in the middle of the winter/when the sun is already set.  Thankfully, I was up for the challenge of incorporating some new flash techniques and, with the help of my incredible second shooter/assistant extraordinaire (Alora from Alora Marie Photography) we rocked it out!

I thoroughly enjoy second shooting for my photografriends when I have some weekends off from my own weddings and am always thrilled when my friend, the talented Erin Walker from Erin Walker Photography, asks me to shoot with her :).  I was even happier when I found out who was in the wedding! I knew Stephanie and two of her bridesmaids from back in the day when I went to Taylor University College and, knowing what I know, I KNEW these girls would be laughing the whole day. Not just giggles either - if you know these girls you know their laughter is a lot larger than that - laughter straight from the gut, you know? Every once in a while when I know I'm going to have a week or two off from shooting a real wedding I get excited about collaborating with other professionals in the wedding industry for special projects. This summer I met up with Arlene from Accentuate Weddings to do just that! Accentuate Weddings is an incredible vendor offering wedding decor rentals (chair covers, linens, drapery, table setups - you name it!) as well as recently adding floral arrangements to the mix! Accentuate even provided the linens for my own wedding! For this shoot, Arlene styled a breathtaking tablescape with gorgeous details. Seriously, guys, she's good at this so you should definitely check her out. We also collaborated with Riti from Makeup By Riti for Claudia's stunning wedding makeup. Riti's also done another of my recent real weddings which you can see here :) Back to the shoot: Good ol' Edmonton weather was even MORE unpredictable that we anticipated - We ended up having to reschedule twice due to crazy wind and pouring rain! When our third date ended up looking about the same we decided to make it happen regardless! Salisbury Greenhouse was incredible at accomodating us and provided a beautiful space for us to shoot in. Claudia and Dane graciously agreed to model for us (and yah, I'm friggin' happy they did...What a GORGEOUS couple!!) and the rest is history!

What a privilege I have to photograph people in love and one of the most special days in their lives! I've known Lee-Ann and Mike for quite a few years now and was so honored when they asked me to photograph their wedding. They are truly, no word of a lie, two of the most beautiful people you will ever meet, inside and out. If you know them then you are no doubt blessed. Lee-Ann and Mike are a fun and unique couple which is reflected pretty well in Lee's hot pink hair and the fact that they had a hawk fly in their rings (Nope, never seen that before)!

I had a great time this past Saturday photographing Mariah and Jake and their gorgeous wedding party. I love when my couples are so in love and so excited to marry each other that everything else during the day seems to just fall into place.  No stress, no worrying about the weather - they just enjoy each other and their wedding day.
